When I'm learning a dance at dance class and then we have to perform it, I always seem to forget the steps easily. Is there any way to remember them good while getting taught the dance?
Memory works in different ways for different people. The more you exercise your memory the better it will be. Try to think how your memory works, some people are audio, some are kinetics, some are through smell, some people need to write things down. Think back to things that trigger your memory and try to associate the steps that way. Most of your memory is lost in 24 hours, so try to go over the steps in the hour after class, then a couple hours later, then the following morning. Find the separation in time that works best for you. Practise is important. One of our dance teachers reviews the moves and patterns when ever he has a spare moment. Good luck.
